Today is testing day. Over the last two videos, I talked about the new assessments I’m adding to the Health Blueprint Intensive. Now I’m going to walk you through the actual process of taking the samples.
I’ve got my cards in hand, starting with the one that says Read Me First. You must read this before taking your samples, otherwise your test may be delayed. It’s important because you want the best results possible, and that depends on giving high‑quality samples.
Checking Your Kit
I need to make sure my kit contains everything listed:
two instructional inserts
the sealed saliva swab
the glass bottle
the hair sample bag
the prepaid returns label
the testing agreement
All of that is here. You’ll also receive a downloadable health form, which you complete before posting your samples. I’ve already filled mine in.
Your email will include a testing window. Make sure you collect and send your samples within that window — otherwise the lab may not test them, and you may need a new kit. It’s much easier to do it on time.
Preparing the Samples
I’ve signed my agreement (you don’t need to watch me do that), and now I’m preparing the saliva sample.
I need to take it today, because once I collect it, I’m heading straight to the post office to make sure it goes out before the last posting time.
I’ve labelled the glass bottle with my name and today’s date.
Now I’m opening the swab. Once it’s open, it’s no longer sterile, so you need to use it immediately.
I’ve taken the sample, snapped the swab at the marked point, and placed it inside the bottle. That part is done.
There’s no padded envelope included, so I’m using my own. The bottle is now safely inside.
Taking the Hair Sample
I’ve taken a small sample from the back of my head — just a few strands — and placed them in the hair sample envelope.
I’ve sealed it and written my name and today’s date on the front.
That’s both samples completed.
Final Steps
All that’s left is the agreement form. I’ll read through the questions and sign it at the bottom. Once everything is ready, I’m heading to the post office to send it off today.
The results take roughly two to three weeks. When they come back, I’ll share:
what the report looks like
what was found
and how it correlates with the voice scans I’ve been running since December
I’m really looking forward to seeing what shows up.
Watch this space — I’ll report back soon.
